¼ lb butter 2 cups sugar 3 ½ cups flour 4 tsp baking powder Dash of salt 1 ½ cups ice water 4 egg whites 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp wither almond or lemon extract Cream together the butter and 1 ½ cups sugar until light and fluffy. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Combine dry ingredients with butter/sugar mixture and add ice water. Beat in egg whites then ½ more of sugar. Lastly fold in vanilla and almond or lemon extract. Bake 325 until toothpick comes out clean. |
